Chemical Peels Are Making A Comeback In 2013
2013 has seen a rise in the popularity of chemical peels.
Over the last ten years or so cosmetic surgery has become increasingly available and popular. And now, in 2013 it seems Chemical peels are once again becoming popular. This is in part because chemical peels have become less abrasive and more person-friendly.
Also, as time has progressed, people have had information more readily at hand to find out just what a chemical peel is. Because, let’s face it, the title ‘chemical peel’ may create some strange images in one’s mind. However, as technology has advanced so too has the cosmetic medical world and chemical peels are a great way to reveal younger and fresher looking skin.
Chemical peels…at Ashbury Cosmetic Surgery
We all have this idea of how we would like our skin to look. Thanks to factors such as time spent in the sun and other factors, often our skin does not look as good as we would like it to.
At Ashbury Cosmetic Surgery in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast we have the means to improve the quality of your skin and remove superficial and damaged layers through the use of skin peels and laser treatment. We offer a range of treatments to suit your individual needs.
Some of the treatments we offer are:
- Alpha hydroxyl acids (AHA)
AHAs are mild organic acids usually derived from fruit, sugar cane and milk. AHA is more beneficial for clients who are looking to improve skin tone, reduce the appearance of fine lines as well as acne scars and any other dark marks. There are a range of AHAs which effectively exfoliate dead skin cells to give you a fresher, younger looking appearance.
A great benefit of AHA (and one that makes it popular) is it causes only minimal irritation (if any) and there’s no downtime!
- Beta hydroxyl acids (BHA)
BHA (otherwise known as salicylic acid) is similar to AHA in that it is used to treat the same issues. However, the difference is that the BHA penetrates the skin more deeply than the AHA. BHA has been used for decades to treat conditions like acne and warts.
So if you have acne-prone or oil skin you will most likely benefit from a BHA as it’s designed for that specific skin temperament.
Cosmetic surgery is an ever-growing industry…
Thanks to advances in modern technology, cosmetic surgery is becoming less invasive and safer. What this means for you is that there is less downtime, less time spent in hospital and more time being out and about living your life.
At Ashbury Cosmetic Surgery in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast our experienced doctors and nurses will discuss all facets of the process so that you are aware of what will happen before, during and after your procedure.
