Get the ‘Mole’ Truth With Ashbury Cosmetic Surgery
Australia has the highest skin cancer incidence rate in the world, so why take the chance…
With our tropical climate and beautiful beaches, it can be difficult to stay out of the sun, which is why Australians are up to four times more likely to develop skin cancer than any other form of cancer!
There are three main types of skin cancers that affect many Australians each year, and there include:
- Basal Cell Carcinoma – The most common kind of skin cancer, this usually occurs on the upper body such as the neck or face. These cancers are usually a red colour with a scaly texture.
- Squamous Cell Carcinoma – Growing over a period of weeks or months, this cancer can spread to other areas of the body if not treated quickly and effectively. Frequently it emerges on areas of the body that are most exposed to the sun, such as ears, neck, arms, etc.
- Melanoma – This is the most deadly form of skin cancer and is the cause for over 1400 deaths in Australia every year with 10,000 cases being newly diagnosed. It is curable, if caught early.
Keep a keen eye on the appearance of your moles…
If you have noticed a mole has darkened, become raised or has an irregular, smudgy outline, it is important to seek a GP as soon as possible to have your mole checked. If you have a lot of moles, we recommend you stay out of the sun and avoid tanning at solariums.
Expert mole removal at Ashbury Cosmetic Surgery means you can take control…
We understand that benign moles can be uncomfortable, annoying and unattractive which is why we offer laser mole removal at our Brisbane and Gold Coast clinics. When removing a mole for cosmetic purposes, we will utilise our laser mole removal treatment to safely and effectively remove the mole at skin level. While most moles do exist below skin level, we can use this treatment to help eliminate the unsightly appearance of an unwanted mole.
Our team are dedicated to ensuring your health…
Our highly trained staff will always thoroughly examine any moles you want to have removed. We will check for any suspicious signs of cancer, and if we feel there is any risk to your health, we will recommend the mole be completely removed and sent away for analysis.
