Frequently Asked Questions
How permanent is permanent hair removal?
After the requisite number of treatments, permanent hair removal—depending on the area of treatment—should actually be fairly permanent.
Do I need to do anything to prepare for laser hair removal?
If you are planning to undergo laser hair removal it is recommended that you limit waxing, plucking and electrolysis for around 6 weeks prior to treatment. The reason for this is that the laser targets the roots of your hair, which are temporarily removed by waxing or plucking.
We would also recommend that you avoid sun exposure for 6 weeks before and after treatment. Sun exposure will make laser hair removal less effective and makes complications after treatment more likely.
How does it work?
The iPulse is a non-invasive laser treatment that produces only the optimum spectrum of light for hair removal, so you can experience a more comfortable and effective treatment.
What hair types can be treated?
The great thing about iPulse technology is that it targets the melanin in the hair follicle so any hair containing this pigment can be treated. Your Asbury Cosmetics doctor will assess your hair type and guide you on whether or not your hair is suitable for the iPulse treatment.
Can both men and women be treated?
Yes, both men and women can be—and are—treated with this laser hair removal treatment. Popular treatment areas for women include:
- Bikini lines
- Unwanted facial hair
Men can often benefit from treatment to problem areas such as chest and the back.
